The latter initiative, so common in the United States, is here an upward trend in private patronage. There is a shy but interesting rise in initiatives that create new culture and habits like for instance crowdfunding.
Another new proposal is After-Arco, a series of events in the city for everybody, either in the streets (like Callao or Cibeles) or in venues that are not into art –like Oscar Room Mate- but join the project. This way, an event usually focused on art lovers, is now integrated into the life of the city.
We hope the proposals by Carlos Urroz, director of the art fair to shake the Spanish market, will be fruitful, and the Spanish art collecting continues to grow up in spite of the crisis.
