In her father's photos as in Sorrolla's drawings and paintings, Clotilide is a main character. In this exhibition-homage she is the star in the Museum that she founded.

The "Diaghilev Ballets Russes" not only were breakers in the dance world, they also influenced all over Europe bringing in their tours all the beauty and delicacy of a new ballet, together with the powerful energy of Nijinski, a force of nature, and the choking aesthetics of avant-garde artists.

Marc Chagall has filled of colour the Thyssen Museum and Fundación Cajamadrid. This painter of Russian roots, whose long and eventful life (1887-1985) witnessed the most vibrant moments of the 20th century, has been one of the masters of the avant-garde. However, he always painted traditional themes like Russian folklore or biblical images, linking to his Jewish origin. That paradox between the form and the content in his art was explains why he was an usual painter, difficult to classify, and sometimes uncomfortable.
