The Prado owns the largest Goya collection in the world... but Goya also exists outside the Prado: in churches, small museums and palaces. We suggest a scholar-led tour of Goya outside the Prado, a kind of treasure hunt across the city.
Spend a whole day at the Prado Museum, Madrid’s main cultural landmark, with your own private guide, an art historian who will make of this guided visit a true in-museum art lecture.
For you, Madrid-born citizen in love with the city, and for you, long-time foreign resident who has learnt to love it and want more... this Madrid Original® "Madrid for Madrilenians" is the program for you!
The Museum of the Fine Arts Royal Academy of Saint Ferdinand exhibits the collection of the academic institution where, for instance, Goya taught and Picasso took lessons. As this institution existed even before the Prado, works of Art expropriated (for instance, to the Jesuits during the 18th century or to the ex-Prime Minister Godoy in 1816) had the Royal Academy as natural destination.
The Lázaro Galdiano Museum is a little gem held in a Neo-Renaissance palace in aristocratic quarter "Barrio de Salamanca".
"Prado Essentials" guided tour covers different masterworks of the most representative schools and artists of all times represented at the Prado. From the Italian Quattrocento to Goya, Madrid Original will propose you a selection of works by the Flemish primitives, Dürer, Raphael, Titian, Greco, Rubens and Velázquez.
