EXHIBITION at the Thyssen: Matisse 1917-1941
Detail of one the Matisse Odalisques Between 1917 and 1941, Matisse had a second artistic life. Those were years when everyone reacted to the agony of WW1 with new expressive accents and new behaviors. Matisse was no exception: only he tried simultaneously to find old roots and new lanes.

EXHIBITION AT THE PRADO: Sorolla

Sorolla: Niños en la playa Joaquín Sorolla’s hour sounds in the Prado Museum, which now gathers more than one hundred of his works to pay tribute to the most famous of Spanish postimpressionists, and maybe the most popular artist in the country. Mediterranean sun and sea will meet once again their best interpreter in the largest anthology devoted to Sorolla since 1963.

EXHIBITION at the Reina Sofía: Juan Muñoz

Juan Muñoz: Sarah with mirror Amidst the sculptures of Juan Muñoz we move as in a strange dream from which it is impossible to wake up. There is no need of any dramatic or unpleasant event in the dream for us to feel strangeness and a certain paradoxical desire of evasion towards reality. Muñoz’s laughing characters tear our soul, maybe because amidst them walks the ghost of the artist who left us 8 years ago.
